Communication from the Governing Board
Dear Families
On behalf of the local Governing board I welcome you all for the new school year and give a special welcome to all our new children and their families who joined us in September. It has been a very busy start to the new academic year and there have been many changes and matters to consider as we have all adjusted back to school life.
As Governors, we also share a common objective, which is the wider school community -working in partnership with you as parents and carers to ensure that every child can succeed and reach their full potential. I know Mr Burnham and his team will join me in expressing my sincere thanks and appreciation to you, for all your support in taking on board the changes, and abiding by the various safety measures. THANK YOU.
The changes this term have been made to ensure the safety of all our staff, students and their families and have been in line with the latest Government guidance. We continue to strive for high expectations in all that we do and our vision for the school remains unchanged. Our core values have enabled us to get through this period and our students have risen to the challenges head on. There has inevitably been some catching up to do, but we see this as an opportunity, not a problem.
I, along with Board members and staff, constantly reflect on where we are as a school and continue to support Mr Burnham in his drive for school improvement. With that in mind, I wish to take this opportunity to once again thank all staff at Newhouse Academy, not only as chair of Governors but also as a parent. We are so grateful to them all and I’m sure you will join with me when I say a huge thank you to staff at every level as they continue to work tirelessly for our children. I am truly inspired by their professional and personal commitment in these challenging times. As a school community we are all learning what really matters in a time of crisis and I hope this is a memory we all carry once we come out the other side of this pandemic.
Finally, I wish to thank our students, who have shown great resilience, respect and patience. You, as young people have also made sacrifices over the last few months and in years to come I hope you look back on this time and feel proud of what you achieved. Your excellent attendance in school has been recognised by the Local Authority and we are pleased to share with you that, so far, we have exceeded other secondaries in the borough. I am incredibly proud of you and our school. Keep smiling, keep trying and you will succeed.
With thanks,
Mrs Kate Ford
Chair of Governors
