Newhouse Academy Uniform and Equipment
As a result of converting to Newhouse Academy, we have taken the opportunity to redesign the school uniform. Plans for this were underway before the current situation developed.
In addition to the change of colour with the blazer and tie, there is also a change to the policy for footwear, (Nike Air Force or any other sportswear brand will not be acceptable). Colours and policies with shirts, trousers, and skirts remain unchanged.
From September 2020:
All new Year 7 students (current Year 6) to wear the new Newhouse Academy uniform.
Years 8, 9, 10 and 11 may wear Newhouse Academy uniform or continue to wear their old Siddal Moor uniform, replacing with the Newhouse Academy as and when required or by September 2021 at the latest.

Physical Education Kit
For parents of ALL students considering buying or needing to buy new PE kit for this academic year (2020/21), existing Siddal Moor branded PE kit is available from our recognised supplier ‘Icon Sports’ and will continue to be worn in school for the next 12 months *
The re-design of PE kit to reflect the change from Siddal Moor to Newhouse Academy will take place later on this academic year in preparation for a launch in the new academic year of 2021/22.
* Please note – this message DOES NOT apply to parents of our new Year 7 students who have ALREADY purchased temporary kit of white t-shirt and black shorts.
We would like all students to come to school each day with a school bag and all of the equipment they will need for the school day.
Pen, pencil, ruler and a scientific calculator are compulsory (there are a number of casio models that are acceptable to buy but the most common are the Casio X83 and 85 models).
For Covid reasons, teachers will not be able to lend or share equipment. Students are also able purchase school recommended calculators from the Maths department.
