Bullying is not tolerated at Newhouse. Any concerns you have once your child starts should be discussed with the Head of year or form tutor. All incidents are investigated and taken seriously. Please email or call to arrange to talk to the Head of Year 7 and or form tutor.
Yes, you can talk to the Form Tutor, Head of Year or one of the pastoral staff in school. Before September you can also contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Their Form Tutor or Head of Year. Please also include it on the your child’s induction form.

Yes, clubs will be introduced once term starts. Your child will be notified of these during tutor time.
We do not have a club that you can book your child into however there are many activities your child can join.
They will eventually be set in Maths, English, Science and PE. Regular assessments will be made to ensure your child is placed in a set that best meets their needs.
You can email them or contact school, you will be directed to your child’s Head of Year. We might not always be able to contact you immediately but will contact you within no more than 24 hours.
School will open at 8.30am each morning, student’s must be in form for 8:35am prompt.

Your child will meet their form tutor on 9th July at ‘The Big Welcome’ induction day.
There is a list of essential equipment in the parent and carers handbook. Please note students will have an equipment check every morning during tutor time to ensure they are ready to start the day.
Yes, please ensure that they have a good waterproof, sturdy bag that is big enough to carry books and equipment in.

If your child is late to school they will receive a 30 minute detention that night. You will be notified via text/edulink. If you are worried that your child has not returned home at the expected time, please contact school immediately.
You will be able to check what your child has purchased and what they have spent. Staff on duty at lunch will pass it on to the Head of Year if they notice a child not eating.
Yes. You can set daily spending limits.
Teachers will contact you if there is a serious problem with your child’s progress. You will also receive a mini report, three times a year.
Mobile phones must then be turned off completely and not left on silent. Students are allowed to use their phones at the end of the school day 2:35pm. If you wish to pass on an urgent message, please contact reception.
Due to space restrictions we do not have student lockers. Students are asked to remove outside coats on entry into the school building. They will need to carry this with them during the day.
In normal circumstances this would be possible but due to COVID restrictions, this will not be possible until further notice.
