Welcome to Newhouse Academy

First class teaching, world-class education

Newhouse Academy, as part of the Hollingworth Learning Trust, is committed to providing opportunities for all students in a school where the values of aspiration, integrity and respect are integral, along with the determination to ensure all of our students achieve their desired destinations after Year 11.

Our new academy believes that all students regardless of starting points, should be given the opportunity to achieve their goals in education. Newhouse Academy looks to instil in all students a belief that intelligence is an area where we can all improve if we work hard and see our mistakes as part of that learning journey. This mindset is placed at the heart of teaching and learning and our curriculum enables our students to develop themselves both personally and academically. This approach also nurtures them to see challenges as opportunities to flourish.

These high expectations of both students and staff are our starting point for 2020. We hope as a community you will support the students and the academy to achieve our vision and values. Together we can rise to the challenge of supporting our students settling back into education. We have lots to do in order to ensure the gaps in learning are identified and interventions are put in place to support our students to aspire. We will not be complacent, and will be relentless in our pursuit of securing strong futures for the students of Newhouse Academy.

Hollingworth is an outstanding academy with a fantastic track record in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 education. We are already working closely with them to ensure the students at Newhouse Academy, have access to the same opportunities.

Our new academy has a new vision, described as ‘High expectations in all that we do’. The staff have designed our ‘high expectations’ agenda, so that they can hold themselves and each other to account. We can’t expect our students to aspire if we ourselves don’t look to consistently improve.

Hollingworth Learning Trust’s core purpose as to make a real positive difference to the lives of its children. Its role as a sponsor of Newhouse Academy is to provide the support, challenge, expertise and resources necessary to significantly improve the provision for education.

Every school Hollingworth Learning Trust work with is on a journey towards becoming world class. Our Trust exists to support school improvement and share innovation in order to raise standards, improve provision and unlock potential. The purpose of each school is to improve the life chances of each child regardless of ability, gender, social background or ethnic origin.

Integrity

Our students are expected to: ✔️ Do the right thing, even when adults are not looking. ✔️ Consider others and try to put others first. ✔️ Speak to adults in the school if they have a problem, rather than confront their peers. ✔️ Be honest and admit when they have got things wrong. ✔️ Understand that by not adhering to the code of conduct that they have broken the school rules.
