Lunchtime

All students are expected to stay on site at lunchtime. Students may bring their own packed lunch or choose from a selection of food provided by school. An example of our current menus can be found on the ‘Dining at Newhouse’ page.

Our school operates a cashless catering system. Parents are required to credit their child’s account through ‘Wisepay’, our online payment system. If making payment online is an issue please contact finance@newhouseacademy.co.uk

If students are choosing a cold food option they can purchase their lunch at breaktime to prevent the need to queue at lunchtime.

Leaving school during school hours

If a student needs to leave school for a dental or medical appointment, he/she must bring a note or proof of the appointment from home to show to reception or student services, or a parent/carer must call school. The student must report back to reception or student services on their return. However, all medical appointments should be made outside of school hours where possible.

Illness at school

Students are occasionally taken ill at school. If this is during lesson time, he/she should inform the teacher who will attend to the matter. Before school, during changeover, at break or lunchtime, your child can report their illness to their Head of Year. If your child is taken ill at school it is essential that we are able to contact you. Please make sure that we have an up to date telephone number so that you can be contacted during the day if necessary.

Inability to take part in lessons

If your child needs to be excused from a lesson for medical reasons, please send a note, accompanied by an appointment card or doctor’s letter.

Student Services

Student Services is open during registration, breaktime and lunchtime for hygiene products, to borrow uniform items and if students need help.
