Newhouse Academy Celebrates Record-Breaking GCSE Results in Historic Year
24th August 2026
We are proudly celebrating our best GCSE results in the school’s history, marking a milestone year of academic achievement for both our students and staff.
We have recorded our highest performance to date, with more students than ever securing Grade 4+ and Grade 5+ passes in both English and Maths, the essential standard and strong pass benchmarks for post-16 progression. Alongside core subject success, high attainment was recorded across a wide variety of subjects. These exceptional grades ensure that our students are leaving fully equipped to secure their first-choice post-16 destinations, including sixth-form colleges, vocational courses, and apprenticeships.
This outstanding performance highlights the continued transformation and academic momentum here at Newhouse Academy, paving the way for a bright future for all our students.
Headteacher Alex Burnham commented:
“A truly historic moment for Newhouse Academy. Achieving our highest-ever GCSE results is a direct testament to the incredible resilience, focus, and drive our students have demonstrated throughout their studies. I could not be prouder of their hard work, nor of the impressive, well-rounded young adults they have grown into.
“These brilliant outcomes are also a reflection of our dedicated team of staff, who consistently go above and beyond, and the support of our school families. Together, we have built a community where high ambitions are realised. Our students leave us with the qualifications, confidence, and determination needed to excel in whatever path they choose next. On behalf of everyone at the academy, I wish them every success in their bright futures.”
