Creativity in Careers: Inspiring the Next Generation

In April, Create Rochdale partners, led by Positive Steps, delivered Rochdale’s second Creativity in Careers event. Following the success of last year’s event, Miss Jones took a group of Year 9 students who have a strong interest in the creative industries to take part.
The aim of the event was to inform and inspire young people by showcasing the wide variety of careers available in the creative sector – and to highlight that these exciting opportunities are open to them.
Students learned about a range of career paths, including photography, film studies, content creation, acting, producing, advertising, fashion design, graphic design, and hair and make-up. They also had the chance to speak directly with college representatives to explore the different routes into these careers.
The event proved both informative and motivating, leaving students with a greater awareness of the possibilities within the creative industries and a clearer idea of how to pursue them.
