Newhouse Academy at the Lord Lieutenant’s Youth District Committee

8th October 2025

On Wednesday 8th October 2025, Head Boy Ryan H and Head Girl Freya C proudly represented Newhouse Academy at the second meeting of the Lord Lieutenant’s Youth District Committee, held in the Council Chambers at Rochdale Town Hall.

The event was attended by the Mayor of Rochdale, Councillor Janet Emsley, and three Deputy Lieutenants. Students from across the borough came together to discuss key issues, including nominations for the Royal Garden Party and priorities for the future of Rochdale. Each school’s representatives shared thoughtful suggestions, contributing to a lively and constructive discussion.

All participating students received certificates of recognition for their involvement. We’re incredibly proud of Ryan and Freya for their leadership and commitment to making a difference in our community.
