Year 11 SEND
We have a graduated response system which means that support we put in place builds up over time as needed. This starts within the classroom with support coming from the classroom teacher and form tutor for each child.
We may complete some additional assessments in school to get a better understanding of the needs of each child.
Where necessary we will involve outside agencies and make referrals for additional advice and support.
If you are concerned about the social, emotional or mental health needs of your child, you can access weekly drop in sessions at #Thrive in Heywood.

We know that waiting lists for external agencies can be long, and we have some additional support available in school through our SEMH team, school counsellor, SEND team and our SALT specialist. Some of these sessions still have waiting lists but we can discuss this with you and support you and your child through your concerns.
You can find further details about our SEND offer on the Newhouse website.
